Tamara Expression is the consulting practice of Tamara Thomas, a Calgary-based product leader and AI strategist with 12+ years shipping software across fintech, emergency management, GIS, and AI.
I started in geomatics engineering, working on mapping systems and environmental data platforms. That technical foundation gave me something most PMs don't have: I can look at a system and understand how it works at the level that matters.
After seven years at Tesera Systems, I moved through Symend (fintech, 50+ features shipped) and BGGoPlan/Response.app, where I led product for an emergency management SaaS serving 25 organizations and roughly 2,000 users with 95% client retention.
I founded Tamara Expression to bring that depth of product thinking directly to founders who want to move fast without making a mess. Lovable is the fastest tool I've ever built with. Paired with the right product instincts, it collapses timelines that used to take quarters into days.

Scope is a decision, not a discovery
The most expensive thing in product is not knowing what you're building. I insist on a clear brief before a single line of code. Not because I'm rigid. Because ambiguity at the start compounds into chaos at the end.
Ship something real, then improve it
A live product with rough edges teaches you more in a week than a perfect prototype teaches you in a quarter. I build to ship, not to impress. Users tell you what matters, not stakeholders.
Technology should reduce burden, not create it
I built the Mental Health Hub because real people needed it. I built the AISH Assistant because the program documentation is genuinely inaccessible. The best software solves a problem someone actually has.
